Daily reports of random shootings all over the world are rising at an alarming rate. Now, the general public must be aware of the possibility of a mass shooting anywhere, anytime. While bulletproof clothing has been around for decades, it has traditionally been worn by action heroes, the military or police; not everyday citizens. Protective clothing is notoriously uncomfortable and hard to maneuver in but now there are a handful of designers making bulletproof clothing and accessories that can make the difference in life or death. For the first time in history, bulletproof backpacks are available in attractive designs with interior bulletproof panels that shield the back or can be taken off and used to shield the face and head if needed. The bulletproof panels are also sold separately and can be inserted into any backpack or bag. A designer at the forefront of this emerging industry is Miguel Caballero, CEO of MV Armor, who has patented his bulletproof designs and taken the extra step of having them certified with the National Institute of Justice.

The products are good looking, comfortable, and available to anyone who wants protection against a possible shoot out. There are thin line tank tops and multi-use vests made of flexible armor that look like casual clothing in colors that blend in with surroundings. Front panels in the vests and tank tops overlap and become an anti-trauma plate that can protect up to a .357 magnum bullet. Another option for additional lower abdomen and side protection is a bulletproof wrap belt that can be worn under clothing or bulletproof vests. To prove the safety of his products, Caballero has personally shot over 250 volunteers wearing his products. Caballero has even been filmed shooting his own wife and magician David Blane live on television wearing an MC Armor bulletproof vest. And they are still alive!

BulletBlocker is another ballistic product company with the biggest selection online. Inconspicuous blue jean jackets, vests, and shirts are comfortable enough to wear everyday. BulletBlocker also has furniture that can take a bullet and "Back to School" tubs containing general school supplies as well as a bulletproof vest for teachers. Just in case.

For the discerning customer, designer ballistic bags and clothing from top brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton are available on the site. But be ready to pay up to 5 times what these brands generally cost. But for those that can afford it, ya can't put a price on staying alive and looking good while doing it.
